STORY

The story of the film is about Dev Kaushal. He is a salesman in a toilet Paper company. He is a married invidividual and Kirti Kulhari is his wife.

One day he decides to come back home early from office to give a surprise to his wife. While he enters his house he witness her wife sleeping with someone in his own bedroom. He gets totally shocked after watching that. He starts planning to kill his wife, his wife’s boyfriend or to blackmail his wife’s boyfriend. There are a lot of twist in the film. Situations becomes worst. To know how Dev Kaushal handles the things you need to watch the movie.

All of you must have understood the concept of the film after watching its trailer. It doesn’t has suspense but it surely has a lot of thriller in it. There are a lot of interesting scenes in the film and you will be definitely glued to your seat.

FIRST HALF

The start of the movie shows everything about Dev Kaushal. His personal life, professional life and married life. The sound of the film is tremendously good because many sounds are merged together to give a great feel to the scenes. I would talk about the scene when Irrfan Khan catches his wife on bed with his boyfriend.

We can hear the whistle of the pressure cooker merged with the background sound. Director has not shown any emotional angle. He has used the concepts in a dramatic way instead of using the emotional one. No doubt Irrfan Khan is eminently great in his acting and the way he does his roles with perfection.

There are many scenes where instead of using the dialogues Director has focused on props and visual communication of the actor to indicate the viewers about the next scene.

As I have mentioned earlier that it is a Black dark comedy drama. The motive of making such films is not only to use comedy dialogues but also to explain its story in a deeper way.

ACTING

In the first place as far as acting is concerned Irrfan Khan has given his best by expressing himself as a frustrated salesman¬†in his own way who is unhappy from his married life. Afterall he is an expressive actor. Kriti Kulhari was playing the role of Irrfan Khan’s Wife. She was also good in her performance. Arunoday Singh has also worked extremely good. We can say that it is one of his best performance as of now. Omi Vaidya is playing the role of Irrfan’s Boss, and he has also done equally great.

SCREENPLAY AND SOUND

Generally speaking Screenplay of the movie is exceptional. Afterall If the screenplay of the movie is good then even a boring story can make a film interesting. Dialogues are written are Pradyuman Singh which is quite good. As I said earlier Blackmail is directed by Abhinay Deo. All of you know that there were end number of bad words in Delhi Belly. The Director has not used any filthy language in Blackmail.

So, It can be said that Blackmail is a family movie. There is one item song done by Urmila Matondkar. I don’t know why she has done it,¬† because she is seen only in the start and end of the song. The entire song has scenes of conversation between two people. Music of the film is ordinary. Nindaraan song is not only good visually but also considerable to hear.

FINAL REVIEW

In a word Blackmail is a dark comedy entertaining film. There are no offended scenes in it. You can surely go and enjoy it. I will give 3.5 stars to this film.
